Shake Charger   (0)  [vote for, against]
Low battery getting you down? Just shake it off!

You know those flashlights that you charge by shaking? Why not make a cell phone battery charger that works the same way? Just plug the charger into your phone and shake it while you talk to get a constant charge while you jabber away.

Great for those who tend to gesture a lot while talking. Could come in an optional dumbell shape in a variety of weights so you can also get a good workout while you talk.

Can't wait to see the average cell-phoner wildly gesticulating in order to keep talking!

You really have to shake the bejeezus out of those flashlights, then keep shaking them as you use them. I am not talking some sort of gesticulation. I mean real work.

You must have a really crappy one. My $4.00 ones need surprisingly little shaking. And if you do it right, it takes very little motion to keep the magnet moving just in and out of the coil without all that wasted movement.

Mine has a teensy NiMH battery. Maybe yours is missing the battery.

It turns out that what I thought was the battery was actually a wad of steel wool and old staples. The thing was glowing because of frictional heat.

I usually carry an oil soaked torch made of oak and some flint. I had a flashlight for a little while, but It doesn't look menacing with a pitchfork.

I would imagine it would make alot of noise, and i dunno if you have one of thoes flashlights or not but the magnetic induction generator in them is pretty larger, about the size of two D batterys, and it still only allows 1 small LED to shine for about 20-30 seconds. so i am with [bungston] on this one. you bet bread dispite my complaints cause i need a way to chage my cell phone on the fly, and get a workout.

/I had a flashlight for a little while, but It doesn't look menacing with a pitchfork/- you need to shine the light on the fork so as to make an enormous fork shaped shadow on the wall. You could actually do this with a regular salad fork as well.

Portable and functional. Thanks.

What about AA, and all the other things we call batteries that fit in CD players and stuff?

To sound casual and aloof?
