Simulated Pee Sound SPS   (0)  [vote for, against]

Paruresis A.K.A bashful bladder, bashful kidneys, mental cloggery, stage fright, pee fright, urophobia, pee- shyness, the slow dribbles, creeping pee-pee, public piss syndrome, shy bladder syndrome is a social anxiety disorder that affects 7% to 14% of the population.

When experienced in the context of a public urinal, most of the fear is caused by the fear of embarrassment of not being able to pee. It's a silly problem easily solved by a simulated pee sound (SPS)

The actual product be a coin-sized-button-triggered- speaker which plays a recording of urination in progress. Alternatively it could be an app triggered by a special key word. Of course the key word has to be carefully selected to avoid accidental SPS discharge during a key meeting. Unfortunately I'm having trouble coming up with something that meets the following criteria:

- Appropriate to say while standing beside someone else at the urinal

- Unlikely to be said in any other social context.

- Repeatable without sounding too weird (for situations when speech recognition doesn't pick it up on the first try)

I'm hoping you can help with that part.

//You do realize, if the Institute of Psychourologists ever finds this place, they are going to have a fucking field-day.

This shows the merit of not deleting these just yet ... until Psychourologists have a chance to go through this.

... now I feel the urge to bake this.

- MP3 recording of urinating ... check

- reliable/convenient/fail safe way to trigger my cell phone to play the MP3 ... not so much

this is so baked in East Asia it's a tooth breaker. Japan tends to sound of rushing water, South Korea goes for birdsong at 120 decibels,,
