Spontaneous Combustion Maps

These are maps that go up in flames when the user least expects it.

The purpose is to make people that have never known a world without GPS who attempt to use a paper map, this will make them stop and think to themselves "this is why they got rid of these things and made GPS"

I think these could be made with flash paper and tiny capacitor type spark trigger.

Thereby burning the driver, igniting the vehicle interior and causing a needless crash.

// "this is why they got rid of these things and made GPS" //

I'm not sure about that. I just found out that the GPS I have was recalled because they are worried it's going to go up in flames: so no improvement really.

A good paper map is far more dependable than GPS. When the batteries fail or your GPS dies - leaving you lost in the middle of nowhere as the rain comes down and night draws in - a single Ordnance Survey 1:13 Hiker's Map can form a makeshift shelter for two people.

<tangentially related> Sturton has the distinction of being the only living Englishman to appear on an Ordnance Survey map.<\tr>
