Steering Wheel Cooler   (+1)  [vote for, against]
Saves on the embarresment of "Driving Gloves"

Hows about a tube of some form of coolant liquid which can run through the steering wheel when you start the engine on a hot day, cooling it from the inevitable heat build-up when it's been caught in the sun and has turned roughly the same temperature of mount etna.

[Dimandja] Whoops, I think I accidentally deleted your annotation which went something along the lines of "What about the seat?"

Well, one idea at a time!

Dimandja: That would be covered by the Chilled Seats idea (also available in the real world). (link added)

my steering wheel has got too hot to hold on a few and far between occasions. a softcover would solve the problem really.

Aww. Halfbaked and didn't turn up on the search.

Never mind, eh?

This idea is really good! Would solve the problem of sweaty palms, so therefore make the roads safer.

I agree with [Liam]; execellent!

At first, I thought of lagging, but it the cab air temp climbs, that won't help for long.

Instead, you could have:

An adsorbtion chiller pack (i.e. nitrate rehydration)
An water evaporative cooler (i.e. a wet rag)
An water evaporative cooler (i.e. an alcohol wipe)
A cold pack in an insulated holder
A freon or compressed air spray
