String Cheese Ball   (+2)  [vote for, against]
All wrapped up like a ball of yarn

Dear Wisconsin,

What in the world made you think it was a good idea for string cheese to come in short little sticks with all the strands squeezed together in parallel?!? You would never find regular string sold in such a manner. It’s silly, and quite frankly, I consider it a slap to the face of my intelligence. I am asking you, Wisconsin, to consider switching to more of a “string cheese ball” type of setup, where the cheese is all wrapped up like a ball of yarn. I don’t want my string to end until I choose it to. Clearly there is room on the market for such a delicacy, as you can already find cheese balls made of many other cheeses. Please consider this, as it would set my mind at ease. I will be watching my local supermarket shelves for a sign of your acceptance.

Thank you for your time, Wisconsin.

Sincerely,
luecke

The idea got out of hand, so I had to move it to a more fitting site [luecke, Oct 05 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004]

California produces one out of every four pounds of Mozzarella made in the U.S and is the country's largest Mozzarella producer. [csea, Oct 05 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004]

I know there's a band called String Cheese Incident, but I'm somewhat alarmed to discover that string cheese itself actually exists. Is it just slightly melted mozzarella or is this another American cheese atrocity?

nothing to do with the Theory of Everything then?

...the band?

luecke,

I think your screed is misdirected. California is now the largest producer of Mozzarella cheese in the US.

See [link].

[contracts]: Hey, I'm not down on Americans, I'm just a little suspicious of the stuff that you call cheese, having been warned by a USer on this site (was it [thumb] or [StarChaser]?) about stuff called "American cheese".

It might wake forever to unwind enough cheeze. Maybe if a sheet were rolled like toilet paper... Hmmm...
