Product: Remote: Button
TV Remote Control Show Flush Button   (+4)  [vote for, against]
Push it, the show on the screen you don't like swirls away while a flushing sound plays.

Then it's registered by your TV as a show you don't ever want to watch again.

The swirl effect would be created digitally from a still frame of the show taken when you push the flush button while a sampled toilet flush sound accompanied it through the speakers.

I'm sure the TV rating folks would like to get the "flush numbers" of shows people are never going to watch again.

Alternately the remote could just have an actual toilet style flush handle on the side.

ADDENDUM: Button with a bomb symbol would alternately do what's shown in the link.

OK, this would be very satisfying. https://www.youtube...watch?v=nkwb_rcisbY

You can get an even better sound by opening the window and pushing the TV set out of it.

I suppose you could have other effects as well. A bomb button that condenses the screen into a representation of the show playing on a small screen TV on a bomb range that then blows up. (link)

Swat button would transfer the show to a turret-mounted projector and the screen would shrink to the size of a postage stamp and then zoom all over the wall. You have to chase it with a fly-swat and swat it at which point it explodes.

I would enjoy flushing a few overactive egos down the toilet, be it a fake or real one.

Only problem with this, I may turn the TV on one day and the screen will say "You've flushed all available TV shows except Modern Marvels and South Park."

Which actually would probably be OK.

What about Star Trek ?

Consider your answer carefully, it may be your last...

//What about Star Trek ? // is that the one with daft vador in it?
-- pocmloc, Sep 07 2020

Well Star Trek goes without saying so didn't need to be mentioned.

//What about Star Trek ? // is that the one with daft vador in it?//

A variation of my friend's "nerd test" (that I've mentioned before) where you say "I like the Star Trek episode where Luke Skywalker gets into a light phaser fight with Captain Kirk." then when they lose it yell ""NERRRD!"

And there was Captain Nemo as well, with the pointy ears. He flew on the death cube I think.

Lol!

What a dilemma; two Wicker Men, one each for [doc] and [poc], or a single extra-large one ?

Probably two separate ones, so one gets to watch the other burn, and the entertainment can be spread over a longer time.

Some amusing repartee along the lines of "Welease Bawabbas !" might be elicited ... nothing like a leavening of gallows humor to raise the mood.

Yes the "Planet of the Wicker Men" episode of Star Wars was one of my favourites all right!
-- pocmloc, Sep 08 2020

Indeed ? Then you will no doubt be delighted to find that we have prepared a unique Wicker Wookie just for you ...
