Teeth Backlighting   (+13)  [vote for, against]
a dazzling smile.

A small retainer holds this bipartite dental appliance behind the top and bottom front teeth, a form-fitted plastic light tube that extends part way down the sides.

A finger/tongue actuated dial controls intensity: from a soft glow through the ivories and almost unnoticeable sparkle, to a white brilliance suitable for use as a night reading-light.

Even when the mouth is closed the device continues to operate at a much subdued level, the ultraviolet component acting in an antibacterial fashion.

(?) Laurie Anderson http://www.hardform...united-states-1.jpg
baked by the fabulously inventive Laurie Anderson, who's creativity knows no bounds [xenzag, May 15 2014]

You can actually buy these http://www.barrysba...h-SKU-NO-10224.html
Probably for raves and whatnot. [doctorremulac3, May 15 2014]

And we finally know the true identity of [xenzag].

Adding a UV light to the inside of your mouth might well help you get cancer, the ozone isn't going to do your taste buds any good. It's also not likely to kill the organisms that destroy your teeth and gums.

Clever.

Oh yea, Laurie Anderson did do that.

Still, clever.

[dre3] They're in the same rather broad generic category: "light vs. mouth", beyond that ... ?

[xenzag] I'll go out and commit hare-kare after seeing that link. Well, not completely since the purpose is different: enhancement as opposed to shock value.

However, in that light, further buns will be donated to charity.

With a little piezo technology, it should surely be possible to arrange for an impressive arc to spring between two gold teeth.
-- MaxwellBuchanan, May 15 2014

//shock value// I wouldn't call Laurie Anderson's performances to be connected with shock value.

The photo looks 'shopped: there's no glow on the hand.

You're going to commit partial seppuku ? I think you should probably make it an all or nothing, if only for the children.

//The photo looks 'shopped: there's no glow on the hand.// ha - First of all, when that album was released there was no such thing as photoshop, and secondly, if you look carefully, you can actually see a slight yellow colour cast on her hand.
-- xenzag, May 16 2014

No such thing as photoshop. Ah, you kids today, you've got it easy. We used to have to burn and dodge in the darkroom, and color was added by hand. We colored those pictures like there was no tomorrow. You kids wouldn't have images today if it wasn't for us...

This sounds very ... Japanese ...
