Use the gigantic piles of used clothes around the world to encode computer data

Just don't ask me how. This idea is about finding some use for old rags. The clothes are extremely durable, not decaying or breaking down, and there are piles of them around the world, in Ghana, in the ocean, and everywhere. The only thing needed is a system to encode data into the recycled threads from the recycled clothes, perhaps with tiny knots and then a way to read them quickly and retrieve the stored memories.

It may waste a lot of energy, but still can give the places that have them some purpose, other than burning synthetic fabric and poisoning the environment, or at least in addition to those activities.

We need power for all the data centers popping up in the age of AI. Could burn them to generate power. [+]

I like your idea better than mine.

When written by the author, it turns that saying around.

Anyway, I like norm's and dr.eMu's ideas (in general and in particular) better than mine.
