Waterfall Skiing   (+4)  [vote for, against]
Freddie phones home

"Hi Mom, where are you?"
"Getting your hair done? Believe it or not I’m at Aqua Xtreme, skiing on a waterfall!"
"No, not down it like on snow. I’m hanging from a ‘towrope’ as the water rushes past. The roar is deafening. That’s why I have to shout into my waterproof hands-free cell."
"How I got in? The towrope goes to a winch on a track so it’s always in front of you. You start waterskiing on the level rapids that are produced by mammoth pumps. Then if you’re good, they ease you over the smooth, curved waterfall, and the rope also supports your weight with a back harness."
"Dangerous? No problemos, when someone falls into the water, they just winch ‘em up out of the rapids or away from the falls. You should see the width of this thing. I’m slaloming back and forth on one ski with the sky in front of me and a frothing pool at my back, yeeha!"
"What? Right, I’ll pick up some milk on the way home. Gotta go now. Wanna SMS Kylie about this adrenalin-rush ride."

I think you missed the waterfall part.

This is probably the sort of thing I would be daft enough to try :P

Have a bread FJ :-)

During spawning season you could do the salmon slalom.

This is closer to bungee jumping than skiing, surely?

//I think you missed the waterfall part.//

Strange, they kept telling me this after the fraternity party at Niagara+

And a common observation to honeymooners there.

For an additional challenge, you can dodge the people going over the falls in a barrel! +
-- DonBirnam, Apr 02 2004

To make it more challenging the water fall could be modulated/controlled by changing the shape of the wall that the water rushes over.
-- booleanfool, Apr 03 2004

To make it more challenging the waterfall could be adulterated/augmented by release of obstacles behind the wall that the water rushes over.
