Welcome to the world, Sarah Mae   (+14)  [vote for, against]
She's not even a half, more like an 1/8th baker...

3 lbs, 4 ounces, (that's 0.232 stones to you weird stoners), 15 3/4" long. Shares a birthday with her grandpa, and her birth time (5:55 pm) with her 18th month old brother. Due date was Feb 1st but she was induced early due to preeclampsia. Breathing on her own so far and just on an IV drip.

Mostly just a name that I liked from a book... http://en.wikipedia...wiki/Rayford_Steele

Wow - that's a *small* Christmas present! It's not been easy on you at any point, it sounds like - give our best wishes to Mom, and hope you can all get released from the hospital soon.

Well done to all involved - just proves the adage that baby girls fight harder!

Mom came off of magnesium sulfate today after being on it (which means not being able to eat much of anything) since Thursday evening. First shower for her in days.

A big halfbakery hug for mom and baby. And you too dad!

I have to admit that the name "Sarah Mae Steele" has a rather satisfying and auspicious ring to it. God bless her!

Handling money? Give me a break. 'Sarah Mae Steele' is the name of the daughter of a hard-bitten and unorthodox private investigator who plays by his own rules and survives on his wits. She herself is also a hard-bitten and unorthodox private investigator who plays by her own rules, but in ways that her father only grudgingly approves of because she produces results. Of course, Sarah Mae does have a softer side, a heart of gold that she hides away from everyone, most of all herself, until the day she rescues an adorable street orphan who's being hunted by the Mob...

Am resisting joining in the narrative out of an irrational fear of halfbakarian determinatism.

//she rescues an adorable street orphan who's being hunted by the Mob

I did that once, and heck, let me tell you, it's best to examine the "orphan" for stitch marks around the neck, being 8 feet tall and that kind of stuff first.

I give one bun for you renaming her to "Sarah Mae Halfbakery Steele".

They named me Rayford because Remington was taken...

Actually, for the origins of the name, see the link.

And the lively sparks from RayfordSteele just keep coming, joyful.
