"Dog" setting for electric windows   (+4)  [vote for, against]
Simple

An extra control on the electric windows of vehicles which, when pressed, sets them to 30mm below the "closed" position, then locks them mechanically so they can't be forced further down.

On a hot day, dogs should never be left in a parked vehicle; but on cooler days, this ensures adequate ventilation.

Depending on the size and temperament of the dog, the mechanical lock may be required to prevent those outside getting in, or the dog inside getting out. In the latter case, it is rarely necessary to lock the doors.

What would the cat setting be?

He asked knowingly.

Windows up, vents sealed, doors locked, vacuum pumps on maximum ...

In my experience, cats have 2 "car" settings:
If you WANT them in the car, then there's no way in hell to get them in.
If you DON'T want them in (like when you're cleaning the car or something) then in they'll come.

Haven't got a dog but might be a valid subroutine if found in the voice command menu. [ 8th] can have a cat code word.
