Product: Sleeping Bag
dead Tauntaun sleeping bag   (+26, -3)  [vote for, against]
unzip the belly and climb on in

This is a heavily insulated sleeping bag shaped like a dead Tauntaun. If you don't know what that is, then you need to watch Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (or see link below). Such a sleeping bag may be bulky and heavy, but with all the extra padding, it should be extra comfy and warm if you have to camp out in a snowstorm.

Scrumpy is a form of cider from the south-west of England. http://www.angelfir...iderweb/scrumpy.htm
If you think the linked site is talking rather like a pirate, that's because south-west England was the original home of those story-book pirates. [pertinax, Jan 26 2008]

Thanks for reminding me of something I didn't want to remember, brrrrr...
-- skinflaps, Jan 25 2008

They would probably get very sweaty with all the insulation in there, and I thought they smelt bad on the outside!
-- theleopard, Jan 25 2008

Does it have nice snuggly intestines?
-- wagster, Jan 25 2008

+ cute, um not, but I bet kids would love it.
-- xandram, Jan 25 2008

can't wait to see the expression on the Park Ranger's face when he comes across the campout early in the morning.
-- FlyingToaster, Jan 25 2008

...or the expression on the camper's face as they awake to a grizzly trying to drag the giant prize back to her cubs...
-- ConsulFlaminicus, Jan 25 2008

I want one. Does it come with an aerosol spray can so you can renew the smell periodically?
-- normzone, Jan 25 2008

Wouldn't a live Tauntaun be a lot warmer?
-- baconbrain, Jan 25 2008

I thought Taunton was somewhere in New Jersey? (It smells funky too, or so I been told.)
-- blissmiss, Jan 25 2008

// Taunton //

The "proper" Taunton is in the South-West of England, Somerset to be precise. You're probably thinking of Trenton, which does indeed smell funny.
-- 8th of 7, Jan 25 2008

Yeah, no Tauntons in NJ, proper or not.
-- DrCurry, Jan 25 2008

Taunton - great scrumpy.
-- wagster, Jan 25 2008

Shhhhh, they'll all want some. If you think it's good in Taunton, try Cullompton.
-- 8th of 7, Jan 25 2008

I like the noise it makes. I want to curl up inside and ignore the world, and if someone tries to bother me, I'll just squeeze the noisemaker button until they go away.
(Of course, the "dead" Taun Taun shouldn't be making noises, and I have never quite been able to fully come to grips with the concept that an animal suddenly (or gradually, for that matter) freezes to death standing up, and then limply falls to the snow.)
-- lurch, Jan 25 2008

We thought it died of exposure, exhaustion and maltreatment.

//If you think it's good in Taunton, try Cullompton// Twixt Taunton and Wellington.
-- AbsintheWithoutLeave, Jan 25 2008

// Twixt Taunton and Wellington //

Who knows ? Drink the local scrumpy and one loses all sense of direction, not to mention a large number of previously quite useful brain cells, motor control of the lower limbs, commnad of various sphincters, and self-respect.

Good stuff, that scrumpy.....
-- 8th of 7, Jan 25 2008

The only problem with this idea is that you are including the 3 new star wars movies. Which in my opinion don't count for shit. I will bun if you make that simple correction.
-- Antegrity, Jan 26 2008

//including the 3 new star wars movies// - huh? How do you figure? The idea mentions only one movie, and I doubt [jaksplat] is in a position to force starwars.com to remove mention of their movies from their website in the link.
-- lurch, Jan 26 2008

Wait, what? Dead Collumpton sleeping bag?
-- elhigh, Jan 29 2008

There's nowhere on this planet you want that much insulation and it wouldn't fit in a backpack. But it would be entertaining.
-- Ford, Feb 19 2008

Look at my link!
-- Giblet, Feb 20 2008

There could be an attached pillow inside in the shape of a mound of guts. The zipper would have an attached pull in the shape of a light saber.
-- bungston, Apr 01 2009

Check out the link. The product has the lightsaber zipper pull and uses the head as a pillow.
-- jaksplat, Apr 01 2009

jaksplat, have you tried actually buying it? This is not the first time that halfbakers have run aground off thinkgeek's shores.
-- tatterdemalion, Apr 01 2009

Yes, I know it's an april fool prank. But it's still my idea.
-- jaksplat, Apr 02 2009

Due to overwhelming demand, the thinkgeeks have added a note to the sidebar on the linked page, promising to try to manufacture the tauntaun sleeping bag for real.
-- jaksplat, Apr 02 2009

demand a free one.
-- FlyingToaster, Apr 02 2009

I prefer this one - see link

Various sphincters? Weren't they a 90s alternative prog psycho-dub duo out of Sweden?
