Cars for Dogs

These are cars that dogs can drive. There is a sensor that notices which way their head is pointed for steering. Also, there is a sensor for whether they are looking straight ahead or at the ground, for acceleration. This assumes that they are always driving toward something on the ground that they want to smell.

This would create mahem on the roadways. Dogcars chasing catcars. Dogcars chasing cars. Mail trucks being smashed on all sides. Long lines at drive-throughs. Constant tailgating and tailpipe sniffing. +

Can the horn be bark-operated? Though I guess that could set up a seriously annoying feedback loop.

lawpoop has gone completely potty - what a shame!

I never suggested cat cars. That would be ludicrous. The only thing cats would car to ride around in are those things that Kings and Queens rode around in -- the one with a person on each corner. And cats would demand that real people carry them!

If cats don't get cars, one of two things would happen:
1. Outdoor cats would become extinct and the roadways would be a little more messy. Or:
2. All dog cars would crash into trees.

What happens when they stick their head out the window, tongue flapping in the wind?
-- lostdog, Jun 03 2004

For cats there should be cat-kites so they can safely get out of trees when the reverse gear for climbing is jammed. It would also make it easier for them to pounce on squirrels that would otherwise glide away to another tree (apologies to all squirrel lovers, I'm trying to take the perspective of a cat).

[ld] Is that what happened? Let me know if you need directions.

\\cat-kites\\ - don't kites just get... er... stuck up trees?

DOGS HAVE LEGS !

(well, most of them.)

'Scuse me for being pedantic, but these would just make it more awkward for everyone. On the road, they'd get squished. In the park, all the people would have to wear padding to avoid being battered half to death by amorous (but confused) mutts. In a cross country setting, what dog wouldn't rather walk?

[kbecker] squirrel lovers can give the squirrels rocket packs, although given Thod's point, and human perversity, the cats would probably have them too.
