Product: Frying Pan
fried egg flipper   (+9, -2)  [vote for, against]
frying pan with false bottom that flips your fried eggs or pancakes – with precision engineering.

nice easy flipping for the lazy, wrist impaired, or uncoordinated cooks among us.

I envisage a non-stick frying pan with a false bottom that is operated by a second handle beneath the normal one which when engaged will flip the contents of the pan neatly and in a controlled manner using a pneumatic device powered by normal mains electricity. the pan makes a pleasing “whoooomph” noise as it flips your food. should any of the food unfortunately not be successfully flipped and ends up on the floor, a sensor will immediately give an audible warning – something like “yikes” and the power will be safely cut off.

Similar idea, though no "whooomph", sadly [trifling matter, Aug 15 2002, last modified Oct 17 2004]

(?) Try one of these. No hot oil flinging required. http://www.asontv.net/perfect-pancake.htm
"Perfect Pancake" looks like it could handle eggs. [half, Aug 15 2002, last modified Oct 17 2004]

The flip action would need to vary hugely for different food size, location, weight, malleability etc. I reckon this would be near impossible to do. The audible sensor is a good idea though - you would need it after the sizzling oil you're frying eggs in is thrown into your eyes. Batter this fishbone and fry it.

any oil in the pan is neglible. don't you know that fat is bad for you.

Not in moderation. You ever tried frying an egg without oil?

I could see this working well with pancakes. Since you didn't give specifics, the pan's sides could be curved inward and the false bottom would start rotating causing the contents to slide to the sides up and over,

Croissant from me. I'm hopeless at the manual flipping. Seemingly someone tried to bake this (see link) but since that was 7 years ago, and I don't see it on the market, it can't have been too successful. It also didn't have the "yikes" alert.

And eggs are good for you? So good.. but so bad!

Looks like the professor's ideas in the Flip it link became reality (by someone) in the link underneath.

This is good. I have a toaster that boils eggs, which I only bought cos it was ridiculous, but is actually eggstremely eggs-traordinary. Hontoast.
