punch-ball   (+2)  [vote for, against]
Gives feedback to reduce stress

The boss has given you a hard time today but at last the clock says "Let's go." and you head for home. With nerves still jangling you switch on your flexible-stalk punch-ball. The face of the boss you've drawn on the ball lights up and you begin punching. Strain-gauges in the stalk and a microcomputer in the base total the deflections you cause in the stalk. When the total reaches your pre-set goal [through warm-up to pro], the light goes out. You've won that round ! In another mode the computer can switch the light on randomly for preset durations and record only those punches arriving while the light was on thus serving as a reaction-time trainer.

One of the great advantages of the Halfbakery is to discover that someone else has unknown to you, already developed your idea - and in this case, done it very well. I admire their enterprise, knowing by bitter experience the immense difficulties of marketing.

Bitter indeed. I smile at the people who suggest the likes of "Halfbakery Venture Fund", in the expectation that surely if we just apply a little seed money to something that seems like a good idea, it can't help but make billions...
