sidewalk shadow play   (+3)  [vote for, against]
noontime city antics

Buildings cast shadows. By mounting an correctly distorted human form on the roof at the right angle at the right time one should be able to create the impression of a human shadow on the ground as if someone was standing near the building. This contraption could be once of many shadow puppets used to create some serious sidewalk theatre. There could be gunfights and murder! love and romance all beneath your feet.

Likewise it might be possible to modify a street lap to include the shadow of a guy playing the sax (ambient echoing music optional)

Well futurebird you are very creative today! I think this is your best one yet.

Lovely idea. It would be spoilt by the penumbra effect, though: the further away from the ground, the more blurred the shadow edges are. The shadow of something on top of a building would be blurred beyond credibility.

But there's no reason why you couldn't do it from below or from the inside of a "wall", casting reflections on frosted glass.

[P.S. I hope you hold your students to higher spelling standards than yourself.]

That's why I could never teach english. I have trouble even seeing other people's errors.

I'm sure this would be the highlight of so many of those people caged in an office all day. I'd like to see a scene of Hitchcock's birds attacking people and getting into the office through the windows. Now THAT would be amusing!
