Computer: Keyboard: Add-On
two dongles   (+6)  [vote for, against]
the one computer-side is crisply baked the other not.

A Bluetooth dongle for the keyboard PS/2, mini PS/2 or maybe a usb connector. Use all those leftover keyboards when the PC moves to next to the flat screen and 30 odd feet is needed. Probably powered by battery (square 9V?).

Oh, maybe a port for the mouse.

It took me a few reads to understand what the idea is: turning wired keyboards into wireless keyboards (right?).

yes, and there are masses of them out there in the land of technology in cupboards.

I haven't seen a Bluetooth dongle for the old keyboard ports attached to the motherboard but I would have thought that part would be baked for wireless keyboards. Maybe, I am wrong and both dongles are needed.

Then again, if you are not sentimental, junking all that old equipment (sorry Gaia) will get you space to place next-gen equipment by the flat screen. Wireless hand waving will come standard.

We should solicit Mr. Tindale's opinion.

This was one of the promised features of Wireless USB [link]... Shame that bluetooth beat it to market.

I'm rather attached to the feel of the keyboard I currently use, which are rather expensive to make, and the mouse ain't bad either... wouldn't mind one to use as a repeater for the WiFi schlong though.
