neck tie that snaps in back

This neck tie snaps in the back, but can be tied like a regular tie.

Essentially a regular necktie with some way to undo it without untying it. This would allow you to tie the tie to proper length and not have to tie it again until you had it cleaned.

Pretty much what you want (I think), except it zips instead of snaps. (Don't ask me!) [DrCurry, Mar 31 2007]

What I'm describing snap_20tie
[nomocrow, Mar 31 2007]

Why?
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Mar 26 2007

So as not to reveal your hidden shame: you are not very competent at tying ties.
-- Texticle, Mar 26 2007

Could it form part of a line of evening wear ? I'm thinking "snap zipper".
-- MaxwellBuchanan, Mar 26 2007

[xipetotec]

No, not really. This is a tie that you tie yourself. It can be tied and untied, or you can tie it and use the snap feature.

Also it is not ugly and fake-looking.

That pink tie looks like a headless girl with very long legs wearing a cocktail dress.

Ingenious, and similar to Wedgie Proof Shorts, which also allows one to escape unpleasant circumstances. [link]

These things exist - used by strippers (I am told), magicians, and engineers.

[after search] oh, and airline pilots, kids taking first communion, and seniors.

Remember the snap bracelets? the things that were straight, then you slap them on your wrist and they curled up into a bracelet?? --- Make a bigger one in the form of a tie!

...you could still call it a snap tie.
-- CaptainClapper, Mar 31 2007

I hate clip on ties! I learned the Windsor knot at an early age, and am proud to tie a tie for special occasions.

+ for the idea, but I'd prefer an adjustable velcro fastener, as it would allow for varying neck size, and correct length of the tie.

[DrCurry] has posted enough of them to show that this is widely known to exist.
-- xandram, Mar 31 2007

That's not what I'm describing. (See link).
