I have a de Longhi brand toaster in brushed stainless steel, like all of the other appliances in my kitchen. The crumb tray works very well, being a steel plate which slides into the bottom of the unit. I am uncertain why you would need to put a toaster in a dishwasher. |

I think the idea is for replacable body panels (there's a similar idea for cars here). Why the author chose to limit it to toasters, I don't know. |

For what it's worth, you probably could wash your toaster in the dishwasher. Just make sure you unplug it first. |
