inspired by 240 Volt Belt
This is a designer belt, with Li-ion batteries inside, similar to a money belt. (batteries instead of money). Equipped with a USB port, you charge it at home at night, and use it to power your multiple devices all through the day.

Is that really you? Wow if it is. |

Yep. Baked to a crisp by that other idea. Sorry. Actually, what I think is needed is carrying cases for spare batteries, like spare magazine holsters used by law enforcement for their sidearms. They make rechargeable power packs that you can plug into electronic devices, too. A belt clip would be awesome for that. My phone, the G1, goes through a full charge in less than a day if I use it a lot, especially with the GPS chip activated. I really want one of those Solios solar chargers for it, but they cost 80 bucks. |

Actually, wait a sec... I'm posting a link. Senatorjam, is that what you meant when you said money belt? If that is what you meant, then you're talking about a shitload of li-ion batteries. Those things aren't cheap, you know. |

Well, one is for a belt BUCKLE battery, this is for the belt to have Li-Ion batterys inside the belt itself (where the money is seen in the second annotation) Just enough to ensure that my cell-phone and Ipod, and everything else that I carry that needs a charge throughout the day, can last if I have to stay out late. |

Sounds like a fine idea. Sorry for confusing it with the other post. I guess if you already have spare batteries for each device, a belt to hold them all would be quite handy. Personally, it's far too much for what I carry. The most I ever carry, anywhere, is a flashlight, multi-tool, pocket-clip folding knife, sunglasses, sometimes a Bluetooth, and G1, and the G1 is the only thing that needs to be charged. |

The G1 (I'm not sure if it's classified as a PDA or Smartphone) does everything an iPod, cellphone, handheld GPS, 3.2 MP camera, Gameboy Advance, and Nintendo DS can do, all in one package (You can surf the web, play games, and use the GPS all with the music running in the background), so I really only need one charger. My ideal power solution is really already available. Rechargeable power packs that plug into the phone to charge it can be kept in a cargo pocket or shoulderbag. All I need is a couple of those, plus a Solios charger, and I could go a few days using it nonstop. Belt clips would help, though. |
