Isn't arson setting fires and then watching them burn? This is for fun, and ends with you putting out your fire. |

No, arson is illegally setting stuff on fire. You don't have to watch. Setting someone else's stuff on fire would be arson. Setting your own stuff on fire in a place where fires are not allowed would be arson. Setting your own stuff on fire to harm another person, or to commit fraud would be arson. Basically if a crime involves fire, it is arson. |

Fire starters are Widely Available in supermarkets over here, often alongside handy bundles of firewood. But until public buildings routinely install fireplaces, not seeing the advantages of this idea. |

I think I was eleven or twelve at the time, having a sleep over at a friends when me and my buddy decided it would be great fun to dare each other to drop a lit match into the dry brush and see which one of us would let it go the longest before stamping it out.
I can't remember who won, but after the first couple of acres of farmland got torched and the all the neighbors came running it sort of lost its appeal. |

Awesome, someone tell that to the next LA lawyer who goes to jail for smoking crack. I'm sure the penalty for arson is less than that for using narcotics. |

If you put a building out, has it only been half arsoned? |

A house once collapsed into a disused mineshaft. The subsequent breaking of gas pipes caused a fire. The investigator on the scene said that the fire had been started deliberately. Apparently he couldn't tell his arson from a hole in the ground. |

I'm letting this idea stay in spite of the MFD because I think it's different from just "arson"; it would work (for me, at least) as a prank or a piece of conceptual art. |
