Highway joke/riddle signs

Put some fun back in the morning commute.

Cruising down the highway, all of us have seen those huge LED signs displaying blurbs on the hoards of traffic stretching for miles ahead thanks to accidents and construction. In fact just seeing these signs can make your day just that much worse...

Instead of seeing these depressing messages of just how grim the situation is, why not replace them with quality jokes bound to take that edge off? For fairness sake, these signs could be located conveniently between exits as to make sure no commuter misses the punch line. the type of traffic may also determine content, jokes may be fine for slow but moving traffic, however in times of heavy traffic, the signs may flip into "riddle mode" displaying stimulating brain-teasers, giving the commuter plenty to think about (besides firing the "behind the headlights" stinger missiles up the exhaust of the nearest car) for the next mile or so of bumper to bumper traffic. This idea would also work wonders in subduing impatient passengers (such as children) on long cross country trips.

This already baked by a gentleman in Amarillo, TX ... Stanley Marsh, who put up the infamous Cadillac Ranch also started putting up random signs up attound town ...some funny, and some obscure ... it was called the "Dynomite Musem", and it had varying effects on the residents as well as passers-by ...

I saw that in my research...I feel this idea is totally separate, sparking thought mile by mile instead of displaying quick puns your forget about, or obscure things you don’t understand after you read/see them.

Its very hard to describe if you haven't been in on the happenings with Stanley Marsh and the Dynamite Musem ... I remember many of them, and they were generaly quite thought provoking ... anyway, I have seen this first hand, and think it to be baked ... and I agree that its an awesome idea, though

HAHAHAHAHAHA --- I'm going to have to 'modify' some signs now ... good one, silver

I think this idea is great! I used to live in California, and traffic could be a real drag sometimes. Having the jokes or riddles displayed on those displays would have a decisive advantage over fixed signs because of the variety.
