The general idea is that a human diode would only allow pedestrian traffic in one direction. It would make it just downright impossible for people to walk the other way-- you would just bounce right off some kind of field. This is useful for exit-only doors and maybe makes your life as a pedestrian
in a busy city a little easier by dividing a wide sidewalk into lanes. All kinds of airport, store, library etc. security features could be implemented, and maybe a controllable diode could help make sure that you can get off of a subway car before the rowdy people on the platform cram you back in.

blowfish, great idea! I'm looking for details as to the implementation, though. In particular, I was wondering what type of unidirectional, people-repulsing "field" you were intending to use. I admit, I have an ulterior motive as I need a field like that for another project I am working on. Thanks for any information you can provide! |

Yeah, but turnstiles are so passé, the "field" thing is the future. |

How about human tunnel diodes? Or human Gunn diodes? How about human thermionic devices? |

Back in my Navy days we used to call people 'Zener' when they wouldn't do you a favor. Hehehehehe I am such a geek. |

I want to be a light emitter. |

You're right, but give those turnstiles long enough and someone will link them to cancer. |

Is EL pedanto a human pentode (or is that *too* geekish)? |

Simple - a ruddy great fan, blowing in the direction you want to allow people to travel. |

There would however be a small, but finite, probability that any given human would spontaneously "tunnel" through to the other side though, right? |
