Keyboard macro buttons
Instead of typing the same thing over and over

In some Windows applications, you can design a macro to quickly repeat a series of actions/characters. This saves you having to type them repeatedly. Unfortunately there are many applications (especially archaic IBM emulations in windows) where you have to type stuff over and over anyway - such as passwords, addresses, etc.

I propose a program which stores a series of timed keypresses in the keyboard. These stored keypresses can then be accessed with a button (M1-10) on the keyboard. The keyboard then sends the keystrokes, correctly timed, into whatever application is currently open.

I love this program... [dbsousa, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 06 2004]

Annotation:

Highly Baked, I'm sure. I've certainly worked with programmable keyboards that can be jiggered to work with proprietary closed applications, including DOS emulations.

It is/was baked on 3270 dumb terminals (pre-Windows). Archaic emulations - *pfft* - mumble mumble...
