I understand that cars are to be coming out with windshields employed with "night vision" technology, so why not apply it some way to the rear view mirror (or the back windshield) ? I know we have the white lights on the back of the car are on there for a reason, but they don't seem to cut it for me.

For me, when reversing in the dark, it tends to be the rear passenger windows that I miss being able to see out of.. |

Mount a gimbaled turret on the top of the vehicle with an IR camera inside. You would be able to point it in any direction and view the image on the monitor installed in the dash. |
