Sahara Dessert
In order to learn them.

Basically, it's a type of custard-based pudding (think a dune-like Creme Brulée) called a Sahara.

Popularisation of this dessert will make it even harder for children to tell the difference between desert and dessert, or it will make it easier, I'm not sure which.

The idea can be further enhanced by renaming the Gobi Desert to the Rasberry Pavlova Desert.

I dunno. With camels and palm trees and mirages, deserts always had plenty enough to incentivize me to learn them when I had to worry about that kind of thing. And it seems to me that a Sahara Dessert should be dry, rather than creamy.

The top would have a dry dusting of sugar, with an oasis of creamy cinnamon custard underneath the Brulée'd crust, and a palm tree sticking out of the middle.

       No Bedouin, though.

"Ooh, what are those little things that look like camel droppings?"

The product range could be called "Just Deserts"

       I'll stick with sandwiches.

Adorn this dessert with small white sugar cattle skulls (aww, okay - human skulls, if you prefer).

Was this inspired by spelling-challenged Pa`ve?

I once correctly ordered a pudding rather than sand in a French restaurant. It's the tongue position that makes the difference.

       Doesn't it always.

...this is the upside dune pineapple cake, and over here is our Lawrence of Arabianana split. (+)

Blech! Dunes of nutmeg, cinnamon and other spices. Just tell me there's not a giant worm lurking in the pudding.

Classic halfbaking. Pointless, silly and a killer punchline. There are not enough buns in my cupboard for this one. I'm off for now - the next idea can only disappoint.
