I know that the military is working on Segway based robots. But why not create a light cavalry. The Segway drives itself at high speeds across the battlefield as you shoot away.
A slightly different Segway cavalry

Ever tried to maneuver a wheeled vehicle on broken ground? Your effective limit on the brokenness of the ground you can traverse is less than half the radius of the wheel. In other words, there's a damn good reason tanks have treads and huge wheels; they are needed to cope with uneven terrain. A Segway isn't going to be worth jack on even moderately broken terrain, and it isn't worth shit in sand. Can you say "sitting duck"? |

Based on the wheelchair Kamen invented, the iBot. I'm sure the platform can be modified to address terrain issues |

You mean speed relatively, right? |
|

I could see urban usage if the front was a built proof shield and the device reinforced to help a soldier/cop carry heavy equipment (battering ram, etc.) |
|

With the added tactical advantage that the enemy would be rolling around laughing at you. |

I think the 12mph speed limits on the segway are tort related. No reason a hardened unit can't be as fast as an electric car, right? |

//With the added tactical advantage that the enemy would be rolling around laughing at you// Yes, and I'm laughing at this! lmfao! |

I don't think I can think of an assault vehicle that offers more protection against incoming fire, more stability as a gun platform, more maneuverability across hard terrain, greater reliability and greater range. |
|

more stability as a gun platform? no way. more protection? obviously not, this can be armored. |
|

it's a horseless chariot. |

When's the last time you tried to fire an M-16 onehanded? |
|
| |
It can be mounted on the steering bar and adjust gyroscopically to give you better aim then otherwise |

If I had like a million dollars per idea that comes true, I'd be rich. |
