i envisage a clock with a large face that is comprised of the liquid mood crystaline substance, but rather than have it change colors according to your mood, have motorized balls behind the face that roll about by their own accord.The balls are warmed to various temperatures to create different coloured
swirls, like amber, red, blue, green purple,etc. A variation to that concept is have them mildly magnitized too, so they repel and attract eachother. From the front of the display this just looks like magically swirling colors constantly changing, very hypnotic, one could sit and watch it for hours.

||"one could sit and watch it for
hours" - um, only if you're under
the influence of certain other
crystalline substances, I suspect.
Why not use one of those blobby
liquid filters from the days of
||days of disco? ^_^ i'm too young to remember the days of disco
||[DC] i suppose a lava lamp clock would be cool, shameless self plug... see link
||=| i like the idea of pretty swirling colors... >_> and i'm not on drugs [+]
||And it's a clock because... once you've
sat in front of it for hours, you can say
"it is now hours from when i started"?
||no it has a standard quartz movement face, probably a nice matte chrome colour.... it would be a decent size too availiable in both square and circular.
