"National Humility"

So you think your country's great do ya?

Quiz show featuring nationalistic contestants who are asked questions specially designed to undermine their over-patriotic sentiments.

"Kevin from the UK - for five hundred Euros, what nationality was the first explorer to reach the South Pole, a full month before Scott managed it?"
"Er, British?"
"No, you dunce, Norwegian."

Special editions of the show could feature xenophobic public figures from all over the world going head-to-head in displays of ignorance about how great the rest of the world is.

Interesting example you chose. Captain Scott visited the shipyard that built his Antarctic research vessel, the Discovery, in Dundee. He famously remarked that it was the finest ship ever built in England.

I can see that this show isn't going to reach american syndication.

Well, America *IS* great. Don't think a measly little game show could undermine THAT. :)

       Hilarious!

       (a) I don't think anyone who has heard of Scott does not know that he was beaten by Amundsen

       (b) In any event, it's well-known that the French invented everything.

The show that would be popular in the US is one showing that despite tremendous cultural and possibly genetic shortcomings, most people in the US are still better than their foreign counterparts in foreign lands. Better in _some_ way, hopefully hilarious and TV worthy.

Why? If he'd taken along a few sheep or pigs to be slaughtered and eaten as necessary, how would that be?

Incidentally, Scott's party failed to bring dogs, but ate some of their horses.
MaxwellBuchanan, Jul 30 2013

You don't hear much about the party that accomplished their journey by eating their members.

Members of the party, that is.

Apparently, in the Brazilian rainforest the humility is about 98%

No one should be more Nationalistic than the President of a country... Link.

       <Insert Chris Christie joke here.>

Then again, that would probably be an ethical step up from business-as-usual for the Republicans.

never mind a dunce, kevin would have to be brain dead to give that answer on that show. You'd need a better question writer.

You're Norwegian aren't you? Anything else you want to bang on about, apart from death metal and fiords? Thought not.
