specially designed wet suits for cats and dogs, or other pets that don't like getting wet, but might enjoy swimming with a rubber suit on in nice warm water with an oxygen tank. (small)

Scratch Monkey http://www.tuxedo.o...scratch-monkey.html
The sad tale of Mabel, the Swimming Wonder Monkey, from the Jargon File. [pottedstu, Dec 04 2001, last modified Oct 21 2004]

Annotation:

This is more like "don't allow pets to bathe, just make them think they are"

you try getting that on a cat - I'd pay for a ticket to watch

They might enjoy the wieghtless feeling and a bit of playful splashing with each other.

I can't get a collar on two of mine let alone a wet suit - YES I AM 4 CATS MAD I confess

I'm sure my hamster would love it.

Before mentioning sacks full of kittens, I'd like to draw your attention to Mabel, the Swimming Wonder Monkey (see link), who used an aqualung, and warn you that animals and water don't often mix; but if you add technology to that, you're only a gnat's shuffle away from disaster.

I thought a wet suit kept you dry - well there you go - I will research this gap in my knowledge

po, Dec 05 2001

No, a wet-suit is to keep you warm. It traps a layer of water between its elf and your elf, and this acts as an insulator. A dry-suit keeps you dry.
