This device would attach to the exterior of an aircraft. After takeoff it would shine lasers around the aircraft in a way that would, when in clouds, create the appearance of giant butterfly wings gently wafting the airplane along.

Strobe or Anticollision Lights http://www.brighthu...articles/81415.aspx
"They are turned off when flying through clouds, because the intense flashing effect can be reflected back into the cockpit and cabin by the cloud, causing a blinding effect." [Klaatu, Oct 05 2013]

Would be very pretty. Of course the pilot probably wouldn't enjoy being blinded, and crashing because he could no longer read his instruments.

I have been flying in haze with low light and had to turn off the anti-collision lights to prevent loss of night vision.

Let's keep it at ground level like the Mini-cooper ads. [-]
