I don't know exactly how often dog owners are avid beer drinkers, but for those that are, a dog tag with a bottle opener incorporated into the design would be ideal. What's more, the design challenge of something like this is almost nonexistent, making production a snap. Human/Hound symbiosis could take one more step forward.

Military-style dog tag bottle openers http://www.dogtagsi...g-bottle-opener.htm
I guess you could simply hang one of those off your pet, but custom engraving is a bit pricy, and you need to order at least 50. [jutta, Jun 03 2007]

wouldn't a human dogtag be more useful? the dog is not always around.

you obviously are a bit ungenerous with the treat/reward thing.

Disappointed - I thought these were military issue dogtags with a bottle opener.

Cute for the urban backyard St Bernard. This is a viable product. I'm surprised nobody does this yet!

jutta, Jun 03 2007

Saint Bernards will just carry the booze in a container around their neck for you, so you won't need a bottle opener.
Hey [jutta] my post came up at the same time as yours!

Unless your dog is better disciplined than mine (and, admittedly, it probably is), you are going to have dog slobber around the mouth of the bottle by the time you get it clear.

[MB] It's not a bottle they carry, but a little barrel with a cap. I think you'd have to pour it into a cup, though on the rescue movies, they pour it directly from the little barrel into the victim's mouth.

[xandram] sorry, I was referring to the dog-tag-bottle-opener, not the St. Bernard.

(And apparently they don't carry brandy bottles except for photoshoots - and never have. Which is just as well since strong alcohol is not good if you're hypothermic.)
