Every year there are a number of large outdoor music concerts, which are inevitably subjected to a variety of inclement weather conditions.

Glastonbury in particular has a reputation for turning into a mudfest, which must at some level be a miserable experience for the thousands of fans standing around in the pouring rain. Umbrellas are not really a good option as they block the view of those behind. Parkas and other waterproof clothing are just not cool for the modern "hoody favouring" youth. What is needed is a garment that combines some of the features of a tent, with the wearability, style and comfort of a hoody.

This is the rationale behind the Robinhoodie. The conventional hood has been replaced with a small tent that is supported from within by fold away flexing arms, and equiped with storm flaps that can be pulled across the face for protection and privacy.
