Shaped like a wine bottle, and fits into any wine rack. It would have a big white cross on the top of the "cork" to identify it as the one to grab. It would be activated by pulling a ring in the punt.

Annotation:

Let it be a rotgut sparkling wine.

       + I like this even if I don't have a wine rack.

Meanwhile, a fire-extinguisher wine bottle dispenses lots of over-fizzy champagne with minimum waste.

You should have to use a corkscrew.

       That might take a while.

Given the amount of practice I have, no.

But if you are in a punt, can't you just get some water out of the river?

This would be harder to spot than a regular extinguisher, but folks might actually have one in an oh-so-stylish room. [ ]
