12 Days of Leftover

I propose a short month that starts on Jan 1 and gives everyone a chance to dispose of the fall bounty that has accumulated since Halloween. New Years’ without the shock of Jan 2. A recuperative shortnight before the Resolutions kick in. A time to drain the last of the fancy old liquor you had to rescue from Cousin Harvey. A great time to collaborate on new Tupperware. If you are in the Caribbean you get the full 12 days of Christmas, starting on Christmas day until Jan 6, 3 Kings’ Day, but I need more. This would be a formal hiatus from celebrations of any kind; social silence, a holiday hiatus.

Take a look at the list in January (link). Really, do we need them all? Take a shortnight off and relax.
