[News report] ...After the founding ceremony for the new state (not yet recognised by the UN) and the unveiling of its new camo-pattern flag, the Minister for Vexillographic Affairs said "Well, I think we can all agree that this puts the 'flag' into camouflage!"...

       Next up: transparent flag

Will somebody tell me what the numbers in front of the searched list entries mean? They start high and decrease as you go down the page. I just don’t have the muscles for this. I need a patch on my software.
minoradjustments, Sep 16 2023

I was going to guess it was the number of instances of the search term on the page. But I searched for "frog" and the first result said "29" but there are 42 occurrences of the word "frog" on the linked page so that's not it.

I once exhibited a flag flag. It was a flag depicting flag.
xenzag, Sep 17 2023

There are several countries with an AK-47 depicted on their national flag (see link) but, as far as I know, no country with a flag on its flag*.

[* I’m not counting all those countries whose flag designs contain a small version of the UK’s Union Flag]
hippo, Sep 17 2023

So hippo, you are stating that there are no countries which have a flag on their flag, except those which have a flag on their flag.

I think we could all agree with the truth of that statement, apart of course for those of us who disagree.
pocmloc, Sep 17 2023

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on that.

There exist statements with which I agree.

       //puts the 'flag' into camouflage!//

It also puts the "vex" into vexillology.
pertinax, Sep 17 2023

I think the good [hippo] is differentiating between having the *pattern* of another flag (such as the aforementioned Union Flag), & having a *pictorial image* of a flag (waving in the breeze on a flagpole, that sort of thing).
Of course, putting a flag on a flag could end up going down a recursion rabbit-hole of flag-on-flag-on-flag-on...

Indeed [neutrino] - the closest I've been able to find to this is in the link I've just added
