This decorative cookbook lists step-by-step instructions for making a large pot of soup. Add 2 quarts water, bring to a boil, add carrots, potatoes, meat, etc. etc . . .

The last step is to throw the cookbook itself into the pot! This cookbook is made of rice paper and printed with food-based inks. All the spices, flavors, and starches you need are built into the design of the book. Simply stir until the book is dissolved and the soup is complete! Bon appetit.

Cookbook Cookbook
similar though not edible nor popular [FarmerJohn, Jun 17 2005]

Good idea, but if it only tells you how to cook soup then it’s going to be a very brief book. Suggest a Cook Pamphlet instead.

There used to be birthday cards with flower seeds in them... but I think quarrantine/customs don't like them.

Hmm...I like this idea. Is it possible to just eat the book without putting it in the pot?

Excellent. I like the air of finality this conveys when you come to the end of the process [+].

Not sure if this would be sanitary. Perhaps sell this wrapped in cellophane.
