Evil Mailbox

 Let's have a little look at Mr Robinsons mail... ARGH!

In some places, mail theft may be a serious problem. What I propose is a solar/wind/mains powered mailbox that will only allow the householder, the mailing staff, and guest access (if you go on holiday) to get at the mail. The mailbox, if it doesn't recognise your fingerprints, or if you approch it without proper authorisation, it will bite you! Or, failing that, it will shock you! The posties will be identified via a little thingie in their badges, or some form of swipe card, and it will let you post only stuff.

Also, if someone steals your evil mailbox, it will alert the correct authorities, and it will shock the theif...

       [ht] Close. It could look like that if I could devise some sort of system that would keep the mail safe, and bite people.   

       [Zimmy] I think my evil mailbox(tm) could accomodate some form of paralysis-inducing drug so that they wouldn't be able to move until it wears off (after several hours), or when the occupant comes home, and has a good laugh at the would-be theif, then calls the police. Would that work for you?

       How about knocking up fake mail in the mailbox that says you have won X (local currency) and to collect go to (local police sting operation).
