So, in countries where air is polluted, people
traditionally use the full face masks, which (though good
for anonymity) are inconvenient:
- do not attach tightly
- they get wet from breathing
An elegant solution -- nasal masks (like the "Nasal-Aire II"
- link), and a filter on the
back of the clothes, or in the
backpack.
However, it leaves the tubes obviously visible on the
cheeks. So, a version of it -- eyeglasses that have the
breathing tubes inside their frames.

Those side-pieces are going to be pretty big. A BA hose is about
40mm i.d., and the main objective is to keep the flow resistance as
low as practicable. |

Small tubes mean higher pressures and velocities,therefore higher

This idea can be workable if the filtered air is supplied at positive
pressure via a demand-valve regulator. |

That means the filter unit in the backpack is going to need a
blower motor and a battery, but such things already exist for
industrial use, in welding helmets and dust masks. |

This would also be of considerable benefit to hayfever sufferes. If
the "glasses" are more like goggles, they will keep pollen-bearing
air away from the eyes, and the wearer can breathe filtered air. |

Predictable Japanese anti-hayfever headwear wot I found in Akihabara, see link to photo. Most inconspicuous. Hardly a patch on the "Survive Toilet Panic" bag the council gave me when I registered at city hall. Happier days. |
