Well, what if I already got a handful? |
|
|
Well, I thought maybe you could pop them out of each side, too (probably dosen't need to be on the back). Sometimes I'm not really oriented in front of the laptop, but down the length of a table, say, and facing one of it's sides. |

Why not just a big magnet on one's wrist? |

I dunno, [Roleo]... big magnets & hard
drives.... |

I know of one unit that has a single handle. It'll probably withstand most of the weird things you might do with it. (link) |

These handles would be very distcrete and fold out, emerging from a small hole in the side and activated by the press of a button. |

There's something I'm not clear on. I thought there would be two handles to allow you to lift the machine a little to overcome the friction of the rubber feet. But, you say that you want to be able to drag it from one side down the length of the table. Is the discrete popping out two handles simply a matter of style? Not that I'm against it no matter how it's implemented, just curious. |

I was thinking that if the primary goal were to lift the machine slightly and move it fore and aft from the front, just a couple of recesses in the sides might do the job without any moving parts. This is the scenario that I most often encounter. I can't even begin to count the number of times I've popped open the DVD drive while just trying to reposition the machine. |

That's not just a DVD drive, it's also a disctcretely (sic) folding out handle. When you get to one end of the desk, spin the laptop round 180 degrees. |

Yeah, those wheels would be nice, kinda like a rolling suitcase. |

I have a tablet PC and I put some of those fuzzy felt sticky things on it. You know, those things you put on the bottom of your chair feet to keep them from scraping the floor? It works well and lets me slide my laptop around the table. I have also been considering putting adhesive hook (aka Velcro) so I can attach a cover with handle... |
