Warm water, forced air, bliss.

This is an add-on to a swimming pool which would only require some rings fixed to the pool floor, one or more compressors with multiple pressure tubes connected to full face breathing masks with a comm system. The users would put one of the masks on and swim to the bottom, slip their feet under the rings and they could just stand there resting or sleeping or even talking to each other. The warm water and absence of gravity would provide a wonderful relaxing feeling. The comm system could be used to interact with the other users or it could be paired with your mobile phone allowing you to listen to your music or favorite podcast.

This is very dangerous and ill-advised; users could very easily suffer irreversible lung or ENT damage, drown or asphyxiate.

Extra croissant if the compressor system is coin-operated.

I can't honestly see what the concern might be. All the compressors are refurbished from very trustworthy car shops from... ah... emerging economy countries. The company responsible for the refurbishment, funny enough is also from an emerging economy country. They're very efficient, with an excellent cost structure. And they really love what they do and charge close to nothing for their work... because they love it so much. And also, you know, because they're so proud to be part of this project.

We're in. Where do we sign up for the IPO ?

The company is limited liability, right ?

We're still doing some test runs. The POC is taking a toll on our seed money because it is so hard to find strong, bulky guys who can swim. We need them to convince the clients to be taken to the bottom of the pool and stay there for at least 20 minutes. We never thought the clients would be so reticent to being tied at the bottom of a pool. Especially since the masks look so cool. We've gone for a retro look although there were people who commented they looked a lot like BDSM masks. I have to look it up, not really sure what that means. Of course that, after having forced them to try the service, our lawyer suggested there might be lawsuits on our horizon. To avoid that, we did some brainstorming and decided to send them to a different country to avoid said lawsuits. There's another expense we hadn't planned for. But at least it brings the cost of the compressors refurbishment down, since we hand them over to those other companies I mentioned before. We like to think of it as a circular economy. Although there's something wrong with the financial model. We still have to fine tune it.

They do a Dolphin Trek thing sort of like this. [link] My daughter and I did it and it was fun.

I tried a little experiment. I figured that the dolphin could probably hear me just fine so I mimicked dolphin noises in the helmet on its first pass. (she just hesitated a bit) Second pass I just pretended to pet her and made whatever noises she made that I could hear. (I figured she hadn't invited my touch so that would be rude) After fifteen minutes or so, of acting contrary to how I saw everyone else treating her, it was time for the out-of-the-pool tail-stand kiss on the cheek photo-op at which point she refused to do the kiss she'd been trained to do and instead kept rubbing up against the side of my head and ignoring the trainers whistle entirely. They made her try it three times before I put my foot own and said enough.

She wanted the hell out of there and thought I could help her.
Sorry. I digress. Hope they haven't broken her spirit yet.

       Sorry, I'm otherwise occupied.

[2_fries] that's an interesting albeit sad story. We have no plans to use dolphins as part of our services. It's already too much work to keep the users underwater without having to add uncooperative dolphins.

Can i get the optional blacked out mask and the four, neutral making, underwaterwings, to horizontally float my cares away?
wjt, Apr 14 2019

Sorry [PauloSargaco]. First dolphin I ever met. Too smart to be subjegated for profit.
I have little to contribute other than my little stories. When they seem to fit with an idea I tell'em.
I like the idea. It's like sensory deprivation tanks but with connections. Could open up a whole new avenue for psychiatric therapy.

Lose all distractions and conversing takes on a whole new element.

       Snorkel.

This is what your competition is.
WaffleWizard, Apr 14 2019

[wtj] You can certainly get the blacked out mask. As for the other things I'm afraid you've been too cryptic for me. I have no clue what you're asking for.

[2_fries], I like where you're going. Once we successfully establish a link to psychiatric therapy we can get regulars and we can build a letter to ROI.

[Waffle] I can see how one could see snorkeling as competition, but for me the target audience for each of the offerings is completely distinct. Snorkeling implies action, movement and the will to proactively subject yourself to asphyxia for a limited period of time. What we're offering is peaceful relaxation under limited volumetric pressure at a very comfortable temperature and with all the breathing air you could possibly wish for.

This isn't a salt water public pool by chance? because a sharp salty stratification would be interesting.
wjt, Apr 15 2019

Is this just a ploy to be able to sit and watch girls underwater?
MaxwellBuchanan, Apr 15 2019

       Could you clarify that ?

If you're using this system then you are undoubtedly underwater; are the girls underwater too, or are they just in the water, or out of the water altogether ?
8th of 7, Apr 15 2019

[wtj] Salty? Not if it implies higher maintenance costs.

[Maxwell] A ploy to... it sounds like an absurd goal for an investment of this magnitude.
PauloSargaco, Apr 15 2019

//it sounds like an absurd goal for an investment of this magnitude.// You've clearly not met Turbulent Flo.
