Fit a comfy couch with a medium-sized motor and a small weight offset on its spindle and an MP3 player set to repeat.

The velocity of the motor could be influenced by the volume of the MP3 player setting, which is ultimately controllable from the arm of the couch.

This baked by massage chairs...not sure if they make a couch form, but they make vibrating easy chairs, very comfy, and the vibration sounds like a kitty purring.

Those have been around for a while. Yep, I posted an idea here for something that did that and a link was posted proving it baked, and in a variety of colors, so I deleted it. They were rubber, I think.
