Don't like the news? Filter it.

This app would connect to a news portal like Drudge Report or CNN and ask "Do you want to see more or less of this kind of stuff?" You see a story about starving kittens in Bangladesh and click "NO". "Solar Flares Linked To U.S. Election Upset": "NO". "Why You May Already Be A Zombie And Don't Know It": "NO".

Pretty soon your waking up to morning news about fluffy unicorns, pretty clouds shaped like flowers and swarms of happy puppies saving drowning orphans.

Of course you could just click the overall subscription button with stuff like "Just Give Me News Stories About How Horrible Donald Trump Is" or "Just Show Me Stories About How The World Is Going To Hell In A Hand-basket." I'm guessing these would be much more popular choices.

Isn't this how the big news and social networking sites run already?

I think news sites just go with the clicks. "If it bleeds it leads" has been the mantra for a long time and it hasn't changed since we went from ink to LEDs.
