Ever notice how celebs seem to go on and on about how they want to help the "less fortunate" and then give you a tour of their multi-million dollar mansion? How about spreading a little of that money around? My proposal is that the really rich can "adopt" middle and lower class families in the midwest.
The celeb will send monthly payments of oh say 200 bucks a month and in return the trailer park pack will send letters back to their foster mom or dad (Bobby-Jo just had twins! We bought a big screen tv and can now watch NASCAR like we're really there! We're working towards buying Billy-Bob the other shoe). Everbody wins.

I'm tempted to call this a WIBNI. Even if these people did 'adopt families', they still couldn't adopt more than one or two percent of total people living in trailer parks. May as well leave them to their traditional adoptions of tiny little African kids; if Big Harry down in the trailer park wants to get a better house, he can just as well find his own ride on the gravy train. |

While it might be nice to see a *new* washer and dryer on the porch, you've just removed all incentive for these people to become upwardly mobile. No pun intended. |

I don't see how this is any more of a wibni than adopting Nigerian children/families/grandmothers. Although in civilised countries there is a taxation and benefits system to take care of things like this (oops, off to Trolls Anonymous for me). |

Dang! I was hoping this would be a proposal to stop people throwing away white things, like shopping bags, which reflect lots of light and draw attention to the fact there's a gigantic pile of garbage on the outskirts of every town and city on the planet. |

As a wealthy person, I must vote against this. Complain as much as you like that I used to be poor. Rich white trash like me don't wanna give nothing back. |

Don’t like to “dis”- the trash, but middle class trash would spend just as much of that extra $200 on crack and dope as would the lower class trash. Poor people are good when they are not trash, or don’t spend the days sitting on a couch on the front porch with the pregnant 14 year old wife in Salt Lake City. The money should be spent on white trash birth control instead. |

We checked out a couple of "White Trash" sites with cool pictures of trailer camps and cars on blocks. It's wild that people really do fit their social designation. |

Here in Indiana we've got trailer parks here and there and you can't go through them without seeing the obligatory pregnant 12 year olds and the couches thrown in the middle of the street. |

White Trash isn't a lifestyle to be distained, just avoided. It would totally suck to live in a trailer court, or around 15 perpetually barking dogs, but without those people our prison system would collapse. |

Some years ago I worked at the Municipal Court in Indianapolis, and most or our "clients" were from the aformentioned trailer courts. And at least once a week someone would show up for their court date dressed as Elvis. (No lie!) |
