Good-sized lockers in all major department stores and shopping centres, so that you do not need to carry the results of the morning's shopping with you all afternoon

You could also use them as a wardrobe in winter, when you get all sweaty from wearing your coat indoors

This is probably baked, but it'll get my vote anyway.

[bliss]: I have never seen a coat check in a department store.

I remember having these at the mall when I was a kid. They were quite small, but enough for coats and mitts and scarf and all that other cold weather crud you have to drag around.

So, bliss and herilane, shopping is an all day affair? My experience has been that people (read: women) often bring along someone else (read:men) to carry all the excess items. Likely the root of many bad moments in relationships.

Tesco and Asda let you park your trolley away in a locker while you 'enjoy' the rest of your days shopping. I'm gonna call it partially baked.
