Singing Hummingbird Feeder

Wing movement used to ring chimes

Located below there the hummingbird would fly to drink the nectar are very light paddles attached to wind chimes. The air movement of the hovering hummingbird vibrates the paddles and transfers the movement to the chimes via a striker.

The sound would be very subtle and would fade in and out as the bird moved, and change as it varied its position over different paddles.

The idea is it would create the sound you'd think a hummingbird or a fairy of nymph would make as it flew.

The sensitivity of the mechanism would require the whole thing be protected from wind by clear wind blocking windows but other than that this should work.

Ray Stevens' version. I liked Carol Burnett's version better but couldn't find a clean copy online. [a1, Feb 20 2024]

[+] This could work. It's a pretty small volume of air but close up may be blowing 5-10 MPH.

I want a Theremin Bird Feeder which outputs a haunting melodic Theremin tone depending on the location of the bird(s) relative to the bird feeder

Geez, and here I was just only going to give my chickens a Xylophone...

Chickens should have xylophones, bongo drums and cymbals, each equipped with an automatic grain dispenser to put tiny, measured quantities of grain onto the xylophone keys/ drums/ cymbals, to control where they peck and thus the chickeny chorus of percussion
