Machine made minimized sneakers are already a fashion but
why not make your own? When your sneakers are getting old
and ratty, just cut out the soft parts and turn them into a pair
of sneaker sandals. Use fabric and glow paint to make them
pretty too. I've tried it, works great.

How do you make sneakers? |

I would say marked for deletion as widely known to exist based upon the ten thousand examples of this in your link, Heloise. |

Interesting... shoes which make no sound were known as "Creepin' Jesus Sandles" by all around me, when I was a kid. I'm not surprised that [JHC] has proposed this idea. |

For many years I figured that "sneakers" were some variant of these, as the term was not used in Australia, until quite recently. If someone called sandshoes, tennis shoes or running shoes "sneakers" then they were likely to get a jibe like, "What do you do in those? Sneak?" I still find the word sneakers risible. |
