A washing machine which, for its 'spin cycle', holds your clothes in a stationary orientation with respect to the centre of our galaxy, while the galaxy, the solar system and the Earth revolve in a mad dance around them.

This isn't going to work hippo. The laundry would have to displace me as the center of the universe.

This would be interesting, because the clothes washed in such a scheme would also have zen about them. I could wash the clothes I wear to keep fit in, in such a zen mode. Maybe I should post an idea relating to that: “Pilates of Zen Pants”.

I think it should come with a plaform for the zen student to sit on, which whirls in sync with the washing while he or she contemplates it.

What, with the current shift away from hard currency to digital currency, if, given increasing awareness of the insecurity of digital currency, people, as has often happened throughout and during history, lose faith in digital cash as well as physical cash. Barter might make a come-back, and clothes themselves might easily become a soft form of hard currency. Under such a regime, would people get into trouble for clothes laundering?

Hence the phrase, "the shirt off your back" ...

// So the clothes come out of the machine wet then ? //

At approximately one rotation per 24 hours, I would think so.

What is the sound of one sock, rinsing?

"So join now, 'cause at the Deepak Zenlaunder Center For Kids Who Can't Scrub Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too, we teach you that there's more to life than just wearing really, really, really good looking duds. Right kids?"
