to stop those pesky sharks from biting your legs off I propose that the interior of said surf board by made of a chewing gum like substance which only becomes chewy when exposed to water. Hence when big ole jaws takes a chunk from the board, rather than getting a little polystyrene entree before his dude main course, he /she gets a sticky mouthful of jaw aching chewyness giving surf boy a chance to skidaddle. Possibly even bubble gum for that West Side Story 'Shark' experience.

Small pockets of superglue inside the board? Sachets of shark repellant? I like it.

Nay, let the entire board become chewy once submerged. Then you gain the added benefit of not falling off since your feet will sink into the board.

Do sharks actually eat surf boards? I thought they preferred penguins.

I thought that was killer whales.

Didn't we do this with Highland Toffee already?

Board hits surfer in face ... here come the seagulls.

Oh, and I'll take mine in "Chewy Granola" flavor, please.

//Yup, [mcscotland]'s been there and done that. Sorry, etherman!// doh!. But surely shark bubble gum is much more preferable to Highland toffee. Aint you seen West Side Story? du- duna - na duuuuna!!!
