Could knit in extra cotton/wool/man-made-fibre into the heel of a sock to give the wearer extra height. A variation is to sew a stilletto heel to the sock's heel.
Could be worn in conjunction with a tall, flat boot (e.g. wellington) to gain a secret height advantage.
